Artist Statement
I live to draw, paint and sculpt. It is my way to explore the human condition – our connection to each other, to self, to nature, to the unseen realms lurking behind the perceived. Being a representational artist allows me to pay attention and to bring attention to what may seem ordinary but which in truth is extraordinary. I work almost exclusively from direct observation, favoring vivid hues and strong compositional elements. I seek the emotive and confrontational, the up close and intimate, in my images. I let the image drive me, not the other way around. Wonder and the understanding of it through visual concentration is a great catalyst for joy in and reverence for our world. I invite you to connect with my work.
