Deborah CC LaCroix lives and works in Washington, DC where she also maintains a studio gallery for exhibition of her work. She arrived late to the easel and sculpture stand. While an avid viewer of all things art since her late teens, she only picked up a pencil in her early 40’s, progressing on to the brush and the tool. Her preferred media are graphite, charcoal or ink on paper, oil on canvas or board, and wax, bronze and terra cotta. She studied with several painters and sculptors, supplemented with classes at local area art schools, including the Corcoran and the Washington Studio School. She retired from a thirty year law career in 2009 to pursue her passion full time.
Her work resides in private collections and has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions nationwide.
Former Co-Chair, Program Committee, Women’s Caucus for Art, DC Chapter.
